Sign inside Tully O’Reilly’s pub, a place where the menu boasts tater tots, but they were out.

As Waddles put it: “You know you’re in a hippie town when the graffiti is inspirational.”

Apparently someone wanted to prevent their shopping cart from being stolen.

Binghamton Senators photos

with 4 comments

Here are some photos I shot from the stands at an AHL game between the Binghamton Senators and the Norfolk Admirals this past New Year’s Eve.

The Senators, who were wearing throwback Dusters jerseys, won 3-2 in overtime.

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette profits

without comments

“The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is making money in print and online, and the paper has a formula that’s been working for years. Since 2002, online readers have paid for content. Publisher Walter Hussman says the paywall helps maintain print circulation. He tells CNN Money he’s not wedded to print, but print still makes more than online content. The paper has a tradition more than 100 years old, with circulation of 170,000 on weekdays, 270,000 on Sundays, and 3,500 online subscribers.” – SustainableJournalism.org

Green Zone

without comments

From Michael Moore’s Twitter:

I can’t believe this film got made. It’s been stupidly marketed as action film. It is the most HONEST film about Iraq War made by Hollywood.

“Green Zone” – if you’ve seen the ads, it looks like a film that sucks. Like it’s a dumbass shoot’em up. What a disservice. It is brilliant.

Matt Damon plays a soldier looking for WMD-and discovers he’s been lied 2 cause there’s no WMD in Iraq.Wow.Powerful film, very entertaining

When u see it, pls note the paper that lead us in2 war w/ stories full of lies was NOT Wall St. Journal. It was NY Times. Never forget this.

On running shoe

without comments

“Looking to take the pain out of running, a Swiss engineer set about creating a shoe that enabled the runner to land as soft as if running on sand, and to push off as if running in track shoes. The result is the the On Running Shoe – a shoe that incorporates a unique rubber ring into the sole design to provide a soft landing, while offering firmness and stability on push off.” – Darren Quick, gizmag
